WeKnowNext.com: WeKnowNext.com is a forum where business leaders and thought leaders can explore and discuss trends in the workforce, and share real-life examples of success. It's sponsored by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) because SHRM understands how important it is for SHRM members to know what's next.
Diversity Corner: Diversity related events for the month of September include celebrations of Independence for Vietnam, Swaziland, Central America, Mexico, Chile, Armenia and Botswana. Additional diversity related events this month include the celebration of Labor Day in the United States, International Literacy Day by the UN, Oktoberfest in Germany, National Deaf Awareness week in the US, the International recognition of the Equinox, Heritage Day in South Africa and the celebration of Confucious’s Birthday in China and Taiwan. Religious holidays celebrated during the month of September include the Jewish celebrations of Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippur, the Islamic observance of Lailat ul-Qadr (Night of Power) and the Ethiopian Orthodox Christian celebration of Maskal.
What is your chapter doing to celebrate the diversity that exists in your community? Please contact KS State SHRM Council Director of Diversity David Grant to discuss diversity related events your chapter may want to consider. David can be reached at 913-894-3320 or via email at david.grant@jocogov.org. Thank you for supporting diversity in our organizations, communities and the HR profession.”
